He works as a close-up magician, a stage performer, and a full-evening MC.
The short version
I come from a small town in the north of Norway, about as far from the Caribbean as you can get. I started with a deck of cards on the streets of Oslo and Barcelona. Got tricked by better performers, absorbed everything I could, and kept practising until I was the one people couldn’t figure out.
Somewhere along the way I figured out what I was actually selling. The two seconds after the trick, when a grown-up who has seen everything forgets to be cool for a moment. Wonder is rare in adults. My job is smuggling it back in. And it takes three things, not one: something impossible, something genuinely funny, and a story worth following.
It turned into a career. A hundred shows in a busy year, six hundred and counting in Norway alone. Television in a dozen countries. Cruise ships from Hawaii in the west to India in the east. Corporate rooms from Oslo to Bridgetown. And five seasons of the Barbados Magic Lounge, the 30-seat theatre I run in St. Lawrence Gap, where I live now. The winters are friendlier.
